PEDRO CALDERÓN DE LA BARCA – LIFE IS A DREAM

Book Review from ViajeLiterario-AlohaCriticon

Segismundo is a polish prince imprisioned by his father, the King Basilio, who is afraid of a fateful omen. The regretful king frees Segismundo but, due to the high handed behavior of his son, confines him again making him believe that what he lived was a dream.

Life Is A Dream (La vida es sueño) is an irrefutable masterpiece of the Spanish baroque theatre. Outstanding philosophical message dealing with a master plot about topics concerning fate, briefness of life and free will. Essential reading.
