THE VOW (2012)
Movie Review from ElCriticon-AlohaCriticon
Film based on actual events dealing with a history of love, amnesia and a family reconciliation.
The progression of the plot, reconstruction of past events to understand the present situation, the creation of a love triangle, revelation of a family secret, bittersweet memories, love recapture, personal determination in an adverse background is treated in a respectful, sensitive tone about the conflict without allowing histrionics nor rashness.
It should be harder in the psychological tension in order to achieve a deeper study, and the resolution could be more imaginative. Also, Michael Sucsy should have asked for more expressiveness to Channing Tatum.
Nevertheless, it is a tolerable romantic film recommended to those who liked movies such as The Notebook, Remember Me or The Last Song.
