Dr. SEUSS’ THE LORAX (2012)

Movie Review from ElCriticon-AlohaCriticon

Adaptation of a book of Doctor Seuss (Horton, The Grinch…) that recreates an ecologist fable about the preservation of the natural environment placed in a totalitarian society ruled by business, physical appearance, absurd fashion and the technological excess.

The film alternates flashbacks in order to expose the origin of this society with present action in which the young rebel protagonist tries to triumph in love.

It does not complete work as a comedy, it is not imaginative enough in the characterization of singular creatures and, as a drama it abuses of the archetypical sermon.
