“No Mercy In This Land” es un disco en el que colaboran Ben Harper, músico californiano con influencias rock, folk, blues, soul, reggae, funk… y Charlie Musselwhite, un veterano intérprete de blues rock, especializado en la armónica, que colaboró en los años 60 y 70 con gente como John Hammond, Big Joe Williams o Jimmy Witherspoon.

Harper y Musselwhite ya habían colaborado previamente en la grabación del disco blues rock “Get Up!” (2013), editado en Stax.

“No Mercy In This Land”, publicado por Anti/Epitaph, incluye el corte homónimo… what would be the first thing you’d say to the Lord and the last thing you would dream, If you couldn’t dream no more won’t you please help me to understand, is there no mercy in this land… followed the river ’til the river ran dry, followed my lover ’til we said goodbye, followed you through soldiers who fire on command, is there no mercy in this land…
