DAVID BOWIE – HUNKY DORY (1972)

Album Review from AlohaPopRock-AlohaCriticon

This is one of the best albums by David Bowie and confirmed him as an international star. Hunky Dory is an LP in which acoustics predominates and stands out because of the creativity in the lyric imaginery.

Influences of Lou Reed, Neil Young or Bob Dylan for a world of ambiguous sexual identities with dreamy details, apparent lives, different homages and fatherly dedications (Kooks was written for his son Zowie).

Cabaret sounds in a pop glam sonority with folk strokes. Star glamour for the forthcoming Ziggy, who had the priceless collaboration of Rick Wakeman at the piano and his friend and great musician Mick Ronson at the guitar and arrangements.
