El grupo estadounidense Mercury Rev (“Yerself Is Steem”, “Deserter’s Songs”) publica en Bella Union Records el álbum “Bobbie Gentry’s The Delta Sweetie Revisited”, un disco que graba todo el disco que le da título, el “The Delta Sweetie Revisited” (1968) de Bobbie Gentry, cantautora con influencias pop, folk, country, soul…

Para ello, los Mercury Rev se hacen acompañar de una cantante femenina por cada canción, entre ellas Laetitia Sadier, Margo Price, Lucinda Williams, Norah Jones, Susanne Sundfor, Vashti Bunyan, Rachel Goswall o Carice van Houten.

A este homenaje al “The Delta Sweetie Revisited” de Bobbie Gentry le añaden un tema de su anterior disco, “Ode To Billie Joe”.
