El veterano Ry Cooder (“Into The Purple Valley”, “Paradise And Lunch”), músico estadounidense que tanto ha hecho sonar sonidos rock como blues, country o folk, publica “The Prodigal Son”, un álbum editado por Fantasy Records.

En el disco suenan temas propios y algunas versiones, por ejemplo del bluesman Blind Roosevelt Graves (“I’ll Be Rested When The Roll Is Called”), del grupo de gospel The Pilgrim Travelers (“Straight Street) o, entre otros, del seminal artista blues y gospel Blind Willie Johnson (“Nobody’s Fault By Mine”, “Everybody Ought To Treat a Stranger Right”).

La canción “Shrinking Man”, compuesta por el propio Ry Cooder, es una de los temas del disco… well it’s a change in the ocean, change in the sea, woke up one morning was a change in me i put on my pants, my pants fell down, i put on my shoes and they fell off too i looked in the mirror, was nothing to see, that’s how it goes when you’re a shrinking man like me…
