Cuatro años después de “Wig Out At Jagbags” (2014), Stephen Malkmus (exPavement) regresó al estudio junto a The Jicks para grabar “Sparkle Hard”, su séptimo disco grande en “solitario”.

El álbum está producido por Chris Funk, miembro de The Decemberists, y cuenta con la colaboración vocal en una canción, “Refute”, de Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth).
