Cedric Bixler-Zavala y Omar Rodriguez-López resucitan The Mars Volta tras su ruptura diez años antes, en el 2012, para grabar el álbum homónimo “The Mars Volta”.
En esta nueva andadura, el cantante Omar y el guitarrista Omar cuentan con el añadido de la bajista Eva Gardner, el batería Willy Rodriguez Quiñones y el teclista Marcel Rodriguez-López, hermano de Omar.
Es su séptimo disco en estudio.
El propio Omar Rodriguez-López es el productor y arreglista del álbum.
Se edita en el sello Clouds Hill.
